Our dog, Miss Terra, passed away on May 7th. We haven’t written for the blog in a long time and I didn’t want to open up again with something so sad. Yet Terra deserves some good words because she was a good dog.
Phil rescued her when she was young. I have known Terra for as long as I have known Phil, 13 years. Terra accompanied us on many trips, from going to the store to going to the north shore.
It is not often that I get up to go on walks these days without listening to something on my headphones. Yet I remember taking her for walks and just listening to the wind as I tried to keep up with her.
As sad as we were to see her go, we take solace in the fact that she could pass at home. Phil, mom and I buried her on the side of the farm’s garage and across the chicken coop where Phil’s other animals were buried. Phil noted that the years he had Terra were some of his best years because my mom and I accompanied them.
We buried her on the rug we had recently bought for her to relax on and tossed in some of the milk bones that we would give her for being a good girl, which was all of the time.
